LaXiyEm, TilXEm,

Thanks to Jeff for this handy list. By the way, yes, all "listservs" work
the same way in essence; listserv is the name of the program they run on,
in fact. The main differences come from the various "versions" (editions)
of the program being used by various servers i.e. computers on which the
lists are run.

You'll probably want to save the following message for reference!

Best wishes,
Dave

Hi, Dave. To resume getting messages after a SET CHINOOK
NOMAIL, one simply sends SET CHINOOK MAIL.

It needs to be sent to LISTSERV at LINGUIST.LDC.UPENN.EDU, of
course, rather than to Chinook at .

I think the commands are the same for all list servers, but to be
sure, I pulled this list from linguist.ldc.upenn.edu by sending in a
message saying INFO REFCARD. You may be puzzling over
this list already. Some of these are pretty esoteric and you'll
never use them, but the short "help" list is so abbreviated as
to be useless.

I sent a REV CHINOOK and got back a list of subscribers.
61 now! Great!

Commands are listed in alphabetical order, with the
minimum acceptable abbreviation in capital letters.
Angle brackets are used to indicate optional parameters.
All commands which return a file accept an optional
'F=fformat' keyword (without the quotes) that lets you
select the format in  which  you  want  the  file sent;
the default format is normally appropriate in all
cases. Some esoteric, historical or seldom-used
commands and options have been omitted.
