(fwd) Chinook Translation

From time to time I get a Jargon translation request via the Web
site, and they are usually some kind of prose or English idiom so
they are difficult.  Also, I recognize the sentiment regarding the
impact of the missionaries upon the natives.  However, this email
came from a fellow who is learning the Jargon as he explores his
Tillamook heritage, and he apparently wishes to share it in a church
service.  Considering the depth of missionary material in Jargon,
perhaps someone can find or come up with a paraphrased translation
for this lyric.

>Every year at our church we sing a certain ancient hymn in any language that any person in the congregation may know. It makes it interesting to hear it in French, Greek etc. I am in the process of learning Chinook but I am not good enough to properly translate this short hymn. Also, it includes words I can't find in any of the dictionaries and I haven't been able to find any missionary texts that might have the phrases or words I need. Here is the line of text:

>Christ is risen from the dead, trampling down death by death and upon those in the tombs He is bestowing life.
