It isn't a matter of "taking over" the Wawa. It is a
matter that the GR dialect being promoted has NO
materials available to those who are not either part
of the language program or linguists or able to travel
to the res.
There is a conversation group on Yahoo that exists for
the sole purpose of conversations in Chinook Jargon.
Despite a number of attempts by more than one person
to have that list's email address posted here, not one
such message has been permitted on this list. Very
ironic considering that this list is one of the listed
resources over there.
If one logs into the yahoo webpage for the
Chinook-Wawa group, messages appear almost instantly
if you press reload; or they can be received in email.
The only requirement is that you either explain what
you said or tell people what resource you are working
from. That way others can learn from reading what is
posted.
I maintain the group although I am more involved in
studying other languages at present due to lack of
materials for the Jargon.
