I don't find this mentioned in our list archives, though I've seen the web 
page before.  Nick Sivonen reminded me of it.  The story takes place on 
the Nasel[le] River by Willapa Bay, Washington in 1899.  It involves 
Chinook Indians, Finnish settlers, and somehow Chinook Jargon.
