LaXawya khanawi Laksta,

In Jacobs’s “Texts in Chinook Jargon”, namely in “A stingy girl is taken
away by mountain people”, told by Mrs. Howard, page 11, para. 15,
appears “Gwe:t” for “way”. Is this the same word as that one spelled in so
many ways (wayhut, hwehkut, weehut, ooakut, oihat, oihot, uyhêt, etc.) or
it is a different word?

Hayu masi,

Francisc
