I use frequently Curtis to look for possible etymologies for CW; it is one of my main sources, since it's freely accessible on-line (http://curtis.library.northwestern.edu/toc.cgi). Unfortunately, the vocabularies are limited and the word "flower" is missing.

Does a form of this word occur in the E H Curtis vocabs in his 20-volume opus on The North American Indian? They're an underused source, IMHO. But I did come across the etyma for a number of less frequent Wawa words (especially ecological vocabulary) when I was looking through them c. 1994.

I know there are tons of Wawa dictionaries, but does anyone know of plans for an ETYMOLOGICAL dictionary of the language?

Seems to me I've seen "spatlam" somewhere.
