Research Assistant

£24,402­£25,889 pro-rata, Ref: 3515

Based in Milton Keynes

33 hours per week, temporary contract 1 June 2007 to 31 May 2008

Working on an ESRC funded project, Trajectories of knowledge production:
English medium academic writing for national, transnational and
international journals , you will assist with a range of research support
activities.  A key task will be to build and analyse a corpus of English
medium academic journal articles. You will contribute to the research team
plans and activities including reports, publications and conferences.

You will have a degree or equivalent qualification in an area of language
study, for example applied linguistics, literacy studies or English for
academic purposes. You will be familiar with, and have an interest in,
academic writing in a global context and corpus methodologies. You will
have good interpersonal skills and enjoy working as part of a team.
