[Corpora-List] World of Warcraft Corpus

Hi,

@Bianca, World of Warcraft is the one of the few existing games that have a
critical mass of regulars, noobs and wannabes. So "sociolinguistically" a
well balanced game to get text data of games.

@Valentiti, yeah, using the < 20 level account to log chats would have
ended up with trolling and sales chat.


1. I wonder how "copyrighted" can a chatlog from the macro be, will it run
into licensing issues with Blizzard?
2. I wonder how much text will the chatlog exist. Possibly audio-visual
data needs to co-exist multi-modally in order to get sensible data from
gamer's interaction. Does anyone know ehther is there a way to log
activities that a Player Character can see?
3. What other game corpus are already built or available for analysis?


My apologies if the discussion/enquiry of WoW corpus has gone a little
nerdy.
