Mustafa,
I've just recorded a lecture given today by Robert McChesney on "Confusion
and Ignorance: U.S. News Media Coverage of the Islamic World" here in
Urbana-Champaign, Illinois, USA. Truth is, McChesney doesn't talk much
about the Islam per se, but his general view of the role of the media is
very relevant to the current situation. I asked McChesney if I could
distribute his talk to your group and he said no problem. The sound quality
is not great (small MP3 recorder), but it's very hearable. When I am done
trimming and compressing the audio file, I'll be glad to pass it on.
McChesney justs asked to be informed if the lecture gets posted somewhere
on the Internet. Please feel free to remind me to send the recording to you
in a few days. Please do not add me to your group, though -- too many lists
already!
Peace,
-celso
