Early learning will include Hul'qumi'num

Khowhemun Elementary School and Parkside Academy Childcare Society have been
awarded a $23,460 grant to integrate Hul'qumi'num language and culture into
early learning programs at the school on Cliffs Road in Duncan.

The announcement of the Vancouver Foundation grant came from the Cowichan
Valley School District June 29.

The money will support students in preschool and full-day Kindergarten
classrooms at the school.
