*UAF Awarded $1.9 Million for Linguistics Program*

FAIRBANKS, Alaska—

The University of Alaska Fairbanks garnered $1.9 million from the U.S.
Department of Education for their linguistics program.

The awarded money will fund a projected three-year program that aims to
improve educational outcomes for Alaska Native students in grades K-12 by
providing graduate education for teachers and computer-assisted language
learning (CALL) programs.
