Program Coordinator
Division/Program: Language and Culture Resources,
The Alliance for the Advancement of Heritage Languages <
http://www.cal.org/heritage/>
Hours per week: 8.75 hours per week (.25 FTE)
Salary: $45,500 (prorated to $11,375 annually)
Position Available: Immediately
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
Serve as a member of the Alliance Leadership Team and CAL staff working with
the Alliance to:
* Build the collection of profiles of heritage language programs
(identify programs, communicate with program contacts, solicit profiles,
complete profiles, and ensure that profiles are posted on the Web site).
* Develop spotlights of languages and programs for the Alliance Web
site
* Develop and publish the bimonthly Alliance News Flash
* Develop other sections of the Web site (e.g., SNS, language policy,
etc.)
* Develop and work with partner organizations and language leaders in
the field.
* Assist with planning and participate in Alliance Leadership Team and
CAL staff planning meetings.
* Assist in developing publications and presentations about heritage
language education in the United States.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Masters degree in a language related field preferred.
Experience: Five years experience working on language and policy issues.
Proficiency with Microsoft programs (Word and Excel) and ability to learn
new technologies (GoldMine, DreamWeaver, etc.)
