EU Languages and Language policy

Languages for SME's

Brussels 24 September 2010

Within the context of the European Day of Languages 2010, you are
cordially invited to the launch in Brussels of an information action
"Languages for SME's", initiated by the Directorate General for
Education and Culture. Mrs Androulla Vassiliou, Commissioner for
Education and Culture, Youth and Multilingualism, will be the guest of
honour at the event, which will take place on Friday, 24 September
from 10.30 to 12.00, in the Auditorium of the Breydel building in
Brussels.

Within the context of the strategy for Europe 2020, the Commissioner
will discuss the contribution languages can make for the
competitiveness of our enterprises and for the employability of our
workforce. Invited SME representatives, that have successfully used
language strategies for their businesses, will contribute with their
own testimonials. The event will also be web streamed so that it can
be followed via the Internet.

After the presentation, there will be a lunch, providing an
opportunity to talk informally to the participants. No travel costs
will be reimbursed by the Commission. To register for the debate,
please send an e-mail to languages4business at ec.europa.eu. You can also
follow the debate live on-line at:
