[Lingtyp] RIP John Davey

[Martin Haspelmath]

Last week, John Davey passed away, a former editor at Oxford University 
Press.

He was instrumental in making OUP an important publisher in linguistics 
since the 1990s.

He was in charge of the World Atlas of Language Structures

and the Atlas of Pidgin and Creole Language Structures

as well as OUP's "red typology series" (Oxford Studies in Typology and 
Linguistic Theory

It was a great pleasure to work with him, and many of us owe him a lot.
