The University of New Mexico’s Department of Linguistics invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor in Linguistics, to begin in August 2020. We seek candidates specializing in typology, whose research orientation is compatible with our commitment to cognitive, functional, usage-based approaches to linguistic explanation. Competitive applicants will have additional expertise in language description, language documentation, corpus linguistics or discourse analysis. A successful candidate will be capable of teaching courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels, including typology and semantics.
