[Lingtyp] terminological question about local cases/adpositions

Allow me to reply immediately to Gilles and Michael. Many thanks! While 
the longer terms used by Gilles do not seem to make a problem in textual 
usage, I am not sure how I would use the shorter terms offered by 
Michael. Do people say such things as 'In this sentence, Inter may be 
replaced by In' and the like?
