[Lingtyp] Entering IPA etc. characters/diacritics on new Apple Macs

Dear William,

I have always used another software for this kind of stuff, PopChar (here is the first site I found, but you can easily find other sites by googling it: https://popchar.it.softonic.com/mac <https://popchar.it.softonic.com/mac>). You can download a demo version or a full version; if you want the latter you have to buy it, but it’s some 20/25$ if I remember well, nothing expensive, and you can use it at most on two different devices. You can use it not only for IPA characters, but also for plenty of other non-Latin scripts, including Greek, Coptic, Hebrew, and Arabic.
I have always found it very easy to work with.

Hope I was useful!

All the best,

If not, what is the next best way to enter IPA/special characters/diacritics on a new Mac? I use it mainly for example sentences; I am not currently doing any continuous IPA transcription, for which an IPA keyboard setting is more suitable.
