Description:
The Department of Linguistics at Indiana University invites applications for a
full-time, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin
August 1, 2020.
The successful candidate must possess demonstrated strength and an active,
cohesive research program in syntactic theory and analysis, preferably dealing
with a range of languages and phenomena. We are seeking an enthusiastic
teacher and scholar to teach at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, to
supervise graduate students specializing in syntax, to contribute to the
growth of a strong syntax program, and to promote the field in the wider
university context. Secondary areas of specialization would ideally fit into
the broader research profile of the Department of Linguistics and/or related
programs.
A doctoral degree in linguistics or a related discipline is preferred, but ABD
candidates in linguistics or a related discipline will also be considered.
