Description:
The Department of Linguistics at the University of Georgia is seeking
to hire a limited-term Lecturer for the 2024-25 academic year, to
begin August 1, 2024. This is a 9-month, full-time, non-tenure-track
position. This role requires duties equivalent to a full-time teaching
load, which includes a combination of teaching and other departmental
service. The expected teaching load is 7 courses per year (3-4 per
semester), with additional limited service duties such as assisting
the Undergraduate Coordinator, serving as the faculty liaison for the
undergraduate Linguistics Club, and supervising the undergraduate
mentoring program. Teaching duties will include teaching our
introductory undergraduate linguistics course, 2 sections of
undergraduate phonetics and phonology, and possibly another course
related to the candidate’s area(s) of specialization.
Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Linguistics or in a related discipline
in hand at the time of appointment.
