Description:

The Department of Linguistics in the College of Arts and Sciences at
The Ohio State University seeks to hire a Visiting Assistant Professor
specializing in linguistic meaning to teach graduate and undergraduate
courses in semantics, conduct research, and advise student research.
The teaching assignment will be two courses per semester.  Expertise
in all areas of semantics will be considered. This appointment is for
one year.

Performance Objectives:
   * Teach two courses in Autumn Semester 2024 and two courses in
Spring Semester 2025
   * Maintain an active research program
   * Advise graduate and undergraduate student research

Education and Experience Requirements:

Required: A Ph.D. in Linguistics or a closely related field is
required prior to the position start date of August 15, 2024.
Appointment is contingent on the university’s verification of
credentials and other information required by law and/or university
policies, including but not limited to a criminal background check.
Desired: The ideal candidate should have a strong record of excellence
in teaching and research. Experience in sociolinguistics and
computational linguistics are a plus.
