The Child Language Symposium 2026, hosted by the Centre for Language,
Literacy and Numeracy: Research and Practice (CLLNRP) at University
College London, invites submissions from researchers working on any
aspect of child language development. As a long-established,
peer-reviewed international conference hosted annually by a UK
institution and attended by researchers worldwide, the symposium
provides a forum for presenting new empirical findings, theoretical
advances, and methodological innovations in the field.
We particularly encourage submissions addressing:
 - Language acquisition
 - Multilingualism and bilingualism
 - Developmental language difficulties
 - Speech perception and production
 - Literacy, reading development, and dyslexia
 - Syntax, semantics, pragmatics, and narrative
 - Neurolinguistics and language processing
 - Input, interaction, and learning environments
 - Assessment and screening practices
 - Intervention approaches and treatment outcomes
 - Educational practice and policy related to children’s language
development

Call for abstracts opens: December 2025
Submission deadline: 10 February 2026 (23:59 GMT)
Notification of acceptance: March 2026
