Subject: Languages - New Trends in Syntactic Islands (Jrnl)


Call for Papers:
The journal Languages is pleased to announce a Special Issue focused
on new trends in syntactic islands. The goal is to bring together work
that draws from computational, experimental, and/or theoretical
linguistics in order to shed new light on the empirical landscape
and/or cognitive underpinning of syntactic islands. Additional

We request that, prior to submitting a manuscript, interested authors
initially submit a proposed title and an abstract of 250 words
summarizing their intended contribution. Abstracts will be reviewed by
the guest editors for the purpose of ensuring proper fit within the
scope of this Special Issue. Full manuscripts will undergo
double-blind peer-review.
All inquiries and submissions should be sent to the guest editors
(mail at thomasgraf.net; aniello.desanto at utah.edu) with the Languages
editorial office CCed (languages at mdpi.com).
Tentative Completion Schedule:
- Submission deadline for 250 word abstracts: Friday, 14 April 2025
- Notification of abstract acceptance: Friday, 14 May 2025
- Full manuscript deadline: Friday, 7 November 2025
Please note that abstracts will be accepted on a rolling basis anytime
before April 14, and prospective authors will be notified quickly
whether they will be invited to submit a full manuscript.
