2nd call for papers:
Meeting Description:
The workshop, to be held at the University of Vienna on July 15-16,
2025, aims to bring together researchers working within Distributed
Morphology and Nanosyntax, inviting them to share recent developments
and findings in their respective frameworks and/or to examine (key)
phenomena from a comparative perspective, highlighting both the
similarities and differences between the two approaches. This way, the
conference wants to encourage dialogue, interaction and cooperation
amongst researchers interested in formal morphosyntax. While the
workshop places a particular emphasis on phenomena observed in Romance
languages, we welcome submissions addressing any language or language
family. Contributions that draw on cross-linguistic data or provide
comparative perspectives are especially encouraged, as they enrich the
broader theoretical and empirical discussions.
INVITED SPEAKERS
Jonathan Bobaljik, Harvard University
Pavel Caha, Masaryk University
Antonio Fábregas, NTNU Trondheim
Natascha Pomino, University of Wuppertal
All information can be found on the following homepage:

We welcome contributions for 30 minute talks, each followed by a 10
minute discussion session. As this workshop seeks to foster dialogue
and collaboration between researchers working in Distributed
Morphology and Nanosyntax, we especially welcome submissions that
engage with one or more of the following topics:
- Curious cases of syncretism
- Suppletion and contextual allomorphy
- *ABA-patterns
- The relevance of zero in DM and Nanosyntax
- Structural gaps (e.g. (pro)nouns, TAM, gender…)
- Perspectives on the different predictions made by DM and Nanosyntax
- Phenomena at the interfaces with semantics and/or phonology
