We are organizing the 3rd edition of the International Sociolinguistic
Research Symposium on 30-31 October 2025, to explore the social
dynamics of language and its role in social interaction. The symposium
is planned to be hybrid, allowing for both in-person and online
participation.
The symposium aims to bring together researchers from linguistics,
sociology, psychology, anthropology, communication, literature, and
other related disciplines to share new knowledge and develop diverse
perspectives. In this context, while the symposium welcomes all
studies related to the field of sociolinguistics, some of the topics
that will be addressed, but not limited to, include:
Bilingualism and Multilingualism, Digital Language and Society,
Artificial Intelligence and Language Use, Digital World and Social
Interaction, Inclusivity and Language Studies, Language and
(Im)Politeness, Language Variation and Change, Language Attitudes and
Ideologies, Language and Identity, Language Socialization, Language
and Education, Language and Social Class, Language and Media,
Conversation Analysis and Discourse Analysis, Language and Ethnicity,
Code-Switching and Translanguaging, Language and Gender, Language and
Age, Language Policy and Planning, Linguistic Landscape Studies,
Language Acquisition, Language and Culture, Language and Power,
Language and Workplace, Language Contact and Language Change
The symposium seeks to present current research, foster knowledge
sharing, and support future collaborations by bringing together
researchers working in the field of sociolinguistics. It aims to
provide participants with the opportunity to present their own
research to experts and the academic community, thereby contributing
to the emergence of new knowledge and perspectives in
sociolinguistics.
We would be delighted and honored to host academics, researchers,
students, and other professionals interested in better understanding
the social impacts of language and sharing their latest research at
the 3rd International Sociolinguistic Research Symposium.
