The Research Group Monumenta Linguae Vasconum (MLV) and the University
of the Basque Country are pleased to announce the First International
Conference on the History of Basque (ICHB1), to be held in Gasteiz
(Basque Country), 25-27 November 2025.
The theme of the 2025 Conference is "Exploring Texts and Varieties".
Papers on all aspects of Basque historical dialectology and the study
of Basque texts are welcome. The following topics fall within the
particular interests of this conference:
 - Textual criticism
 - Material bibliography
 - Socio-historical context of ancient Basque authors
 - Linguistic analysis of texts
 - Historical dialectology
 - Contact phenomena in the past
 - Historical sociolinguistics
 - Medieval Basque: documentary sources
 - The textual corpus of Basque: new discoveries and perspectives
 - Lexicology and Lexicography
Please send your abstracts to mlv.conference at gmail.com. Please provide
the author(s) name(s), affiliation(s), and email address(es) in the
main body of the email. Please indicate whether a poster presentation
would be possible or preferred.
Presentations will last 20 minutes, allowing 10 min. for discussion. A
poster session will have place: this session will include short oral
presentations for each poster.
