Subject: AILA ReN Webinar - Thinking Inclusivity in Applied Linguistics
AILA continues to foster collaboration and innovation in Applied
Linguistics through its Research Networks (ReNs). We are pleased to
invite you to the first joint webinar hosted by the EMEVEDI and
Inclusive FL Education ReNs. This online event will take place on 25
June 2025, from 1:00 to 2:00 PM (CEST).
Theme: Thinking Inclusivity in Applied Linguistics
This webinar offers a unique opportunity to explore how inclusive
perspectives are shaping current research and practices in applied
linguistics. Researchers and practitioners from diverse backgrounds
are encouraged to join the discussion and contribute to a shared
understanding of inclusive language education. The AILA ReN English as
a Medium of Education, Multilingualism, Virtual Exchange: Equity,
Diversity and Inclusion (EMEVEDI) coordinated by Marina Orsini-Jones
in collaboration with Mirjam Hauck, Carlos Alberto Hideblando Júnior
and Luciana Cabrini Simões Calvo, aims to address equity, diversity
and inclusion (EDI) in language education research through a
decolonial lens. The AILA Ren Inclusive Foreign Language Education
coordinated by Joanna Pfingsthorn brings together researchers,
practitioners, teacher educators, policy makers and language learners
active in various geographical, cultural, and institutional settings
who would like to share their experience with and local insights into
inclusive foreign language education.
