The 34th annual meeting of the Austronesian Formal Linguistics
Association (AFLA-34) will take place from June 23rd to June 25th,
2027, at Academia Sinica in Taipei, Taiwan. AFLA is one of the premier
international conferences in the field of Austronesian formal
linguistics. It aims to provide an international forum for scholars
engaged in theoretically oriented research on Austronesian languages
to exchange ideas, present original findings, and foster scholarly
collaboration. Another central mission of AFLA is to encourage
early-career researchers to pursue theoretically grounded research on
Austronesian languages. By bringing together leading international
scholars, linguists who are native speakers of Austronesian languages
and emerging researchers, AFLA promotes intergenerational academic
exchange and continues to advance formal research on Austronesian
languages.
AFLA-34 is pleased to welcome the following invited speakers:
Henrison Hsieh, National Tsinghua University
Paul Kroeger, Dallas International University
Kristine Yu, University of Massachusetts, Amherst
Submissions are invited for analyses of Austronesian languages from
any theoretical or experimental perspective, including morphology,
phonetics, phonology, psycholinguistics, syntax, semantics, etc.
Abstracts are invited for 20-minute talks (plus 10 minutes for
discussion). A poster session will also be included. Please specify
whether you would like your abstract to be considered for oral or
poster presentation or both. Each author is limited to two
submissions, one singly-authored abstract and one co-authored abstract
or two co-authored abstracts.
Submission Guidelines:
Submissions should be in PDF format. Abstracts should be no longer
than 2 letter-sized (or A4) pages, including all text, data, figures,
and references. Text should be in 12pt font, with page margins of 1
inch (2.5 cm) on all sides.
