It's the carnaval period and today I got a copy of the carnaval newspaper of
Kessenich (Belgian Limburg):
"De Ertesjieter, Carnavalsgezèt vanne ertesjieters, Kèsing, 6 Miërt 2000"
28 pages large size in Limburgish and a supplement "Eug Gratis inlèkkruuske"
with pictures of 111 people from the municipality, with both their official
and local names.

Roger,
Thanks for the list (above).
Perhaps I'm missing something here, possibly being side-tracked by the
carnival connection. You call the names in the right-hand column "local
names." Are you saying these are the names those people are known and called
by locally *all the time*, or are those specially made-up names for use during
the carnival season?
Are there any set rules for making up such names?
