By the way, I have downloaded all the audio files from that site into a
folder. That way, if I want to know how Gothic sounded, I can just go to
that file. I wish that I spoke another language or an unrepresented dialect
so that I could contribute.

Hi, Ben!

Your support is appreciated anyway, and you did contribute your intro after
all.

However, you could always contribute your own English translation of the
story and a recording of it as well.  As I've told people many times, no two
people speak and write alike, so it's more than fine to have more than one
translation for each variety (English or otherwise).

The best thing to do to make it authentic is to start with the sound
recording, namely to retell the story in your own spoken idiom.
Alternatively, you could retell the story in writing first. It's best to do
so without looking at another translation of the story at the same time.

I'm glad you brought this up, because it prompts me to remind folks to stop
thinking only in terms of languages and dialects that have or have not been
represented. More than one sound file for each variety is great anyway. But
even in the supposedly same dialect there are further distinctions, both in
terms of sub-dialect and idiolect.
