concerning our old thread _*einwiddern*_ I came across another indication.

Our Piet these days wrote:

Mii dücht meist, dat is dat Wourd! Översett in G heyt dat jo woll anspornen

E: ‚to incite someone', in our LS: *wööpsch moken* (to make someone 'waspy')

Isn't it interesting to find the origin of a word I only know from my
East-Prussian ancestors just of all in a LS-dialect (Stellingwarvs) of The
Netherlands?

Of course- e.g. all the diminutives used in East-Prussian-LS point to either
Dutch/Flemish or Westphalian roots. It could perhaps be a legacy of the
mennonites.

And though there are no members in the row of my ancestors over there (going
back only to the end of the 18. century) pointing to any Dutch etc.
connection I remember my granny's words that there was a slight idea some of
them might have come from the West of Germany or even from across the border

So at last I even might be related to our Sandy Fleming...;-)!

today, in a different context, I quoted a word of Piet:

This time it is the word _rellegien_, meaning something like 'tumult' I'm
interested in.
I can't get the etymological background of it, and that makes me always feel
uncomfortable ;-)!
Is perhaps a 'revolution' hiding out here?
