Subject: Dangast - Wolgast

 Liebe Lowlanders,

neulich ist es mir tatsächlich passiert, dass ich die Namen der Städte
Dangast und Wolgast verwechselt habe. Dabei ist Dangast friesisch und
Wolgast slawisch. Zu Wolgast habe ich auch Hinweise auf die Wortherkunft
gefunden, zu Dangast nicht. Weiß jemand, was "Dangast" bedeutet und wieso
Dangast so heißt, beinahe wie Wolgast, das doch praktisch am anderen Ende
der Krone des plattdeutschen Eekbooms liegt? ;-)
