Beste Laaglanders,

Ook in Oostende - West-Vlaanderen - kennen we het woord wiedowwisse. Het
heeft de betekenis: wijmen, wis van een wilg die gebruikt wordt voor het
vlechten van manden.
M.a.w. een wisse van een wiedow. Wiedow = wilg.
Het Oostends e wieme = Nl. wis, teen (vl. teenwilg).
Een wilg = e wilge, e wulge.
