For many years, now decades, I have shot my own microfilm.  It is simple,
easy, cheap, and when they let you do it a great alternative.  All it takes
is a single lense reflex camera, a tripod, a flash and high resolution
black and white film.  In fact the film is so forgiving that you can
develop it yourself...  I have literally scores of rolls of microfilm I
shot myself dating back to the early '70s
