<resource-network-linguistic-diversity at listserv.linguistlist.org>
*Linguists who podcast: engaging a broader audience with research in
linguistics*

Podcasting is a rapidly growing medium and educational podcasts help
curious people learn more about the world. Linguists who podcast share
ideas from the field of linguistics with a broader audience. In this
session, hosts from the popular podcasts Vocal Fries, Because Language and
Lingthusiasm will talk why they decided to start a podcast, how their shows
address different topics in linguistics and ways that researchers can talk
about their own work in an engaging way.

Moderator: Lauren Gawne (La Trobe University and https://lingthusiasm.com/
).

Panelists:
Megan Figueroa and Carrie Gillen https://vocalfriespod.com/
Gretchen McCulloch https://lingthusiasm.com/
Daniel Midgley and Hedvig Skirgård https://becauselanguage.com/

We will start with a panel discussion (around 45 minutes) and then we will
discuss the issues raised in small groups for about 30 minutes. The panel
discussion will be streamed live to YouTube and will be available to view
later.
