The 11th International Conference on Austroasiatic Linguistics (ICAAL11)
will be hosted by Chiang Mai University (Thailand) October 26-27, 2023. The
conference will be held online, via Zoom. There will be no registration fee
for non-presenting participants.
Memorial Tribute For Gérard Diffloth, R.I.P.

Video: To memorialize the life and scholarship of Gérard, you are invited
to prepare a 2 or 3 minute video commentary on your memories of our
recently departed colleague. These will be edited together and presented in
the ICAAL program by Uma Pappuswamy. Please send your tribute video to Uma
at <umaranip at gmail.com> by October 6, 2023 (and CC to <icaal.ps at gmail.com>
at the same time).

Volume: An edited tribute volume for Gerard will also be proposed and
contributions invited. If you would like to participate in this project as
writer and/or editor, please email <icaal.ps at gmail.com> to register your
interest.


Call For Papers:

We invite abstracts on any aspect of Austroasiatic languages and
linguistics  by August 29, 2023 to <icaal.ps at gmail.com>. If you need a
little more time to prepare your abstract, that's okay, just let us know
that it is coming within a couple of days. Abstracts should be not longer
than 500 words, written in 11 point Times New Roman, must not exceed one A4
page in total, and must be submitted without authors’ names in the PDF file.

While the conference will be held online, Chiang Mai University will
provide a seminar room for informal public viewing/presenting for people in
the area who want to participate on campus.
Registration:

A registration fee of Australian $40 (or equivalent) will be collected from
all presenters to cover infrastructure for live streaming and archiving, as
well as ongoing maintenance of the icaal.net website. There will be no
charge for non-presenting participants, although you are requested to
register as a non-presenting participant before the meeting by sending an
email request to <icaal.ps at gmail.com>.

Presenters can pay their registration by PayPal to <icaal.ps at gmail.com>; if
you do not have a PayPal account you can pay by credit card via a PayPal
invoice, just send a request for an invoice to <icaal.ps at gmail.com>. If
payment is still problematic, we will negotiate a suitable alternate
arrangement.

Notifications of acceptance will be sent out by September 15, 2023.
