AAASS panel proposal: Freud and the Arts

Panel proposal for
AAASS 34th National Convention
Pittsburgh, 21-24 November 2002

We are looking for a presenter for the following panel:

Freud and the Arts.

The idea behind the proposed interdisciplinary panel is to examine
the role that Freud (or Freud's texts or ideas) played in
Russian/Soviet culture. Papers could come from a variety of
disciplines, including intellectual history, art history, medicine,
psychoanalysis, literature, film, culture or the visual arts. Papers
could address any moment of 20th century Russia that seems
particularly rich for the investigation of either Freud's influence
or rejection.
