Chekhov question

Dear All,
my colleague from the English Department asked me about best
translations of Chekhov.
Here is her inquiry:
In preparation for a seminar I'm teaching on Katherine Mansfield and
D.H. Lawrence, I'd like to discuss with students Chekhov's influence on
the English modernists.
The modernists read the Constance Garnett translations of the Russians,
but I am wondering what translations of Chekhov, these days, are
favored. (I'm assuming Garnett is regarded as outdated?)
If you have a particular angle on this, I would be hugely grateful!
Please reply to Tatiana Osipovich (tatiana at lclark.edu) with your opinion.
Thanks to all in advance.
