Need Help From an ASL signer on the List...

I will be meeting with Philippe tomorrow. I'm hoping we can come up
with something for you on this. I know I've seen several different
variations on this with deaf Iowans. But you are right ... which sign
for birthday ... what about Dear ... what about "to you"?  Those are
interesting questions in my mind.

It reminds me of the time that I was in German class in high school ...
we sang it this way if I remember the spelling correctly. I only had
one year of German and no one to use it with, so my German isn't all
that great. I haven't thought about this in years. (Stefan, no laughing
now! <GRIN>)  I don't know if that is the traditional German song or my
German teacher's accomodation to American culture.  At any rate, it is
an interesting commentary on birthdays and culture for sure!
