Hi, Charles Butler, Fundación Arbol de Vida, Germán González and SW list 

I did not attend the Deaf Way conference, so we did not meet before. I think you met German Gonzalez or other Deaf Person who attented that conferece. Yes, a multinational approach would be good. I do not know if some of them are in the list or if they want to organize "The Americas Conference for SignWriting". My circumstances do not permit me to do at this time.

Personas Sordas, Asociaciones o Fundaciones de Sordos en Colombia interesados en SignWriting o SeñaGrafía:

El señor Charles Butler quien vive en Brasil pregunta si es posible organizar en Colombia una conferencia multinacional para los paises de Latinoamerica sobre SignWriting (SeñaGrafía) que se podría llamar "SeñaGrafía en Las Américas" (o algo similar). 

Por ejemplo, los Sordos de la fundación "Arbol de vida" como una asociación de Sordos Colombianos podrían liderar un evento tan importante como este.

Ya en Colombia hay algunas iniciativas para poner por escrito la Lengua de Señas Colombiana como los sistemas llamados "Visagrafía" (Instituto audiológico de Pereira) y el Sistema de Escritura para Lenguas de Señas - SELS (Por Stefen Rodriguez). He visto que miembors de la "Fundación Arbol de Vida" han ideado un sistema de dibujos o ideogramas para representar la escritura de diversas señas sobre todo a nivel pedagógico, y también he visto que han incursionado en el sistema de escritura ideado por la señora Valerie Sutton.

Por supuesto, la SeñaGrafìa tiene la ventaja de haberse ido refinando a través del tiempo, y depurado con la participación de usuarios de lenguas de señas de todo el mundo tanto de Personas Sordas como de personas oyentes.

Por mi parte, aunque me gustaría participar en la organización de una conferencia internacional sobre el sistema de escritura SeñaGrafía (SignWriting) a nivel de las Americas, yo no puedo hacerlo debido a mis circunstancias actuales. Si German Gonzalez (Lider Sordo) u otro Sordo o institución de Sordos esta interesados en organizar dicha conferencia, les deseo exitos en tan noble empresa y tengan la plena seguridad que estaré presente en dicho evento.

  I thought anyone could enter the SignBank dictionaries, it was only the editors who could change something once entered.

  I met you, Hector, at the Deaf Way conference a couple of years ago. There was much complaint that ASL was the only language being discussed at the Deaf Way conference with rare exception.  LIBRAS, Columbian Sign Language, BSL, and others were often given short shrift.  Maybe we should have an "Americas" conference in Colombia on SW. Colombia is centrally located to all the Americas and it would be good to have a multinational approach.
