Hello all--

The SLA Nominations Committee is looking to fill two positions on the SLA
Executive Board, President Elect and Member-at-Large. If you would like to
add your name to the ballot for either of these positions, please send a *short
statement of interest by January 29th* to the Nominations Committee Chair,
Erin Debenport (erindebenport at ucla.edu), or SLA President, Kira Hall (
kira.hall at colorado.edu). Position descriptions appear below.

Many thanks,
Erin

*SLA Executive Board, elected positions, open seats beginning November 2021*

*President-Elect, Society for Linguistic Anthropology*
The term for President-Elect lasts two years and will begin November 2021
at the AAA meetings. The President-Elect will work together with the SLA
President, the Secretary-Treasurer, and 3 Members at Large for two years
before becoming SLA President at the AAA meetings in November 2023. The
President position will last an additional two years before concluding at
the AAA meetings in November 2025. The President-Elect position is largely
an apprentice position; once President, the individual in this position is
responsible for carrying out recurring SLA initiatives, overseeing the
biennial conference, representing the SLA membership, and leading the
organization in positive new directions.

*Member-at-Large*
The term for the Member at Large position lasts three years and will begin
November 2021 at the AAA meeting. The Member at Large will work together
with the SLA President, the SLA President-Elect, the Secretary-Treasurer,
and 2 other Members at Large until the position concludes at the AAA
meeting in November 2024. Members at Large assist the President with
internal SLA initiatives, such as the annual student paper prizes, the
biennial book prizes, and the biennial SLA conference.
