Subject: Anniversary

Anniversary Site: http://lowlands-l.net/anniversary/

Folks,

As of today, we have 224 written versions and 112 audio files of the
anniversary story.

While this is pretty impressive, I'm sure we can do better than that before
our 13th anniversary (15 April - 15 May 2008). We might even make it to 250
by then.

What we definitely still need in the Lowlands core area is at least one
Scots audio file. Now, Sandy is not the only Scots speaker here, and he does
plenty of things for LL-L, also find it a bit harder to make audio files due
to his hearing loss. So, how about it, fowk? If you don't want to narrate
Sandy's translations, just make your own, or ask other people to do it.

Outside the Lowlands core area the sky is the limit. The wish list gives you
just a glimpse (http://lowlands-l.net/anniversary/wishlist2.php).

Please remember that more than one version per language and even per dialect
is just fine, also more than one audio file per translation. The more the
merrier.

Please also bear in mind that this site enjoys considerable and growing
popularity. The number of its visitors from all over the world keeps on
rising, and there are many repeat and even regular visitors. Quite a few
educational sites are now linking to it because it contains corporae in
language varieties that are rare or even absent in the rest of the Internet.

So here's just one opportunity for you to make a difference.

Please contact me if you have any suggestions or questions or if you want to
submit further material for the site.

Thanks.

Reinhard/Ron
