Subject: Anthems

Dear Lowlanders,

For a while, there were only *de facto* national anthems of Scotland, *Flower
of Scotland* and *Scotland the Brave *being foremost amongst them.

Lately I've been seing *Flower of Scotland* described as Scotland's national
anthem, though the Wikipedia still labels it as *de facto* along with *Scotland
the Brave*.

Has there been any official decision lately?

I certainly like both songs, though I find *Scotland the Brave* a bit biased
on the Highlands side, and I wonder if the words of *Flower of
Scotland*(which I prefer somewhat) aren't a bit too much in the face
of England
within a UK context.

I also realize that so far England has no *de jure* national anthem, the *de
facto* ones being *God Save the Queen/King* (the UK anthem), *Jerusalem*,
and *Land of Hope and Glory*. I suppose the problem here lies in the fact
that these days there is no official, political overall entity called
England.
