Subject: LL-L "Etymology" 2009.09.13. [DE-EN-NDS]

Dear all,

in my muensteländisch native dialect they use for the DE- word "aber" a word
quite similar to English "but".
1. Example: Von alten Zeiten versteht er aber nichts. LS. "Van olle Tieden
versteit he d'pat" nix!
2. Der ist aber nicht wohlhabend. "De hefft d'pat nix up de Noaht"
3. Das sage ich Dir aber! Dat degg't di d'pat.
In anderen Teilen Norddeutschlands mir ein solcher Begriff nie begegnet.
Wer weiss mehr?
In other parts of Northern Germany I never faced a similar expression.
Who knows more?

Greetings

Heinrich Becker
