Hello pi LaXayEm,

The book "Lost heritage of Alaska: The adventure and art of the Alaskan
coastal Indians" is by Polly and Leon Gordon Miller. The publisher was
World, of Cleveland, Ohio (1967). On page 104 you too can view the
incredible indigenous carved statue of "a Boston man". Really well worth
a trip to the library.

A Captain Sturgis is quoted a little farther along in the book, on page
107, as explaining: 'the whole trade was in our hands; and so remained
until the close of the war with Great Britain, in 1815....So many of the
vessels engaged in this trade belonged here [in Boston], the Indians had
the impression that Boston was our whole country. Had any one spoken to
them of American ships, or American people, he would not have been
understood. We were only known as Boston ships, and Boston people.'

Lhush tEnEs-pulakli!
Dave
