[Lingtyp] Mainland Northeast Asia (MNEA) as a linguistic area

Gyalrongic languages are of course in contact with both Sichuanese and
Standard Mandarin, but this contact, at least for Japhug, is post-1949. I
think that it is unlikely that this use of *ta *is calqued from Chinese,
especially since the range of meaning of this verb is not identical to that
of Chinese 放 (see the online Japhug-French-Chinese dictionary for
examples). However, I do not dispute that this possibility deserves to be
investigated in more detail.
As for Adi, contact with Mandarin in Arunachal Pradesh is probably very
limited.
